Red Button Trailer Imminent?

Matt Smith is the Eleventh DoctorRumours abound currently that a “red button” trailer for the new series of Doctor Who is set to be launched next week!

Freeview channel 301 is expected to run the alleged trailer on a loop from Wednesday, 24th March, which rather than featuring any clips or highlights is supposedly featuring the first 60 seconds of The Eleventh Hour – giving viewers and fans the chance to find out what happens in the second minute of the Eleventh Doctor’s life.

Starring Matt Smith and likely showing us the Doctor’s first encounter with Amy Pond, it would make sense for the trailer – in the style of the 2008 Children in Need preview of The Next Doctor – to also introduce us to the new companion as played by Karen Gillan.

At present only Freeview 301 is listing the trailer – Sky and Virgin Media customers will need to wait until their EPGs are updated to display content for the week commencing March 20th.
