Comedy actor and writer James Corden was on the set of Doctor Who for the first time yesterday as he took part in the filming of an as-yet untitled episode.
Speaking to Richard Bacon on BBC Five Live earlier this week, Corden revealed:
“Well, I’m about to start an episode of Doctor Who tomorrow, and I’ve also started writing something else for the BBC.â€
There’s no word yet as to how significant the Gavin & Stacey stars part in this Eleventh Doctor adventure is, or if he shares scenes with Matt Smith or Karen Gillan.
Corden first came to prominence (after a shaky start in Hollyoaks) in Fat Friends in 2001 before becoming one of The History Boys on both stage, radio and screen; from here he then worked with Fat Friends co-star Ruth Jones to write the inexplicably popular Gavin & Stacey, which ended recently.
