Monster Madness

Weeping Angels - back in Doctor Who!A host of monsters threaten the Doctor and Amy Pond in the new series of Doctor Who – not least the Weeping Angels, the fearsome creatures first encountered in 2007’s Blink.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast News today, series lead writer Steven Moffat revealed that this time around, the scary statues will be far more fearsome…

“Those scary statues, I should warn you – and your children – are on their way back and they’re way way worse this time.”

Series 5/season 31 is certainly shaping up to be a thriller, certainly in terms of the creatures the Doctor is set to face. We’ve already heard today that the Cybermen are to return – meanwhile, there was also mention of the Daleks, and even the Silurians, with mention of their history and their motivation…

“Soon you’ll see him grappling with Silurians, an enemy from Jon Pertwee’s time as The Doctor, who have a particular reason for wanting to take over the earth – and brand new monsters too.”

As you should know by now, Doctor Who returns to BBC One on Saturday, 3rd April.
