Matt Smith on Jonathan Ross

Matt Smith - set to appear on Friday Night with Jonathan RossThe BBC have confirmed an upcoming appearance by new Doctor Who star Matt Smith on the weekly chat show Friday Night With Jonathan Ross in late March.

Joining Smith on the show – set to air 8 days before his full debut as the Doctor on April 3rd – are Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Emma Thompson, with music from Goldfrapp.

Smith follows former Doctor Who stars David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Billie Piper, John Barrowman and Christopher Eccleston onto the show, and is no doubt likely to be subjected to Ross’ “unique” interview style, which usually involves some flirting and insults.

Matt Smith’s first appearance on the final run of the popular Friday evening entertainment show takes place on Friday 26 March, 10.35pm.

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children.
