Matt Smith – “Funny and friendly”

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan star in Doctor WhoA pair of young sisters are among the guests in Matt Smith’s first outing as the new Doctor Who – appearing in The Eleventh Hour was good enough to get the pair into their local paper

Eden and Merin Monteath were sent the scripts quite early – they didn’t know if they would be working with David Tennant or the new Doctor, Matt Smith!

“The whole event was quite nerve-racking, but Matt was really great he was funny and very friendly, and made the girls feel totally at ease.”

They’re no strangers to stardom, however – both girls actively attend local drama groups while Merin is also currently starring in a Coleman’s chicken fajitas advert on TV.

While the girls are unable to give anything away, the event proved what a small world it is – while their parents and grandfather are all actors, the headmaster of one of the girls also taught Matt Smith…

“It turns out that Eden’s headmaster… had also taught Matt when he was at school in Northampton! Matt was really ‘blown away’ that they all knew each other and said to say ‘hi’ to Mr Bromley!”

“We have been sworn to secrecy about the story and the part we play in it and it will be a great relief not to have to keep the secret any longer!”

Don’t forget – The Eleventh Hour will be aired on Easter Saturday, April 3rd!
