Mad as a Box of Cats!

Karen Gillan - mad as a box of cats!In his recent interview with The Guardian – in which he declares that co-star Karen Gillan is “a beautiful woman” – Eleventh Doctor actor Matt Smith also described her as “mad”.

To be precise, he described her in a way many might tag one of his predecessors, Tom Baker – “mad as a box of cats”…

“She’s very beautiful, mad as a box of cats.” He stops. “In a brilliant way… We’re both pretty mad, I think, which is why it’s cool.”

Does he fancy her? “Me, Matt Smith, or the Doctor?” The Doctor? “Well, you’ll have to see, won’t you?” And Matt Smith? “Noooh!” he protests.

Certainly some of the trailer footage from New Year’s Day reveals an actress who seems to pull off “kooky” in a wholly British way – of course, we can only speculate for the next 4 weeks… meanwhile, there’s plenty to read in the interview on the Guardian website which will interest any fan of Doctor Who and young British actors in general.

So if you get the chance, please, please, PLEASE take the time to read the Matt Smith interview in The Guardian!
