Following Matt Smith’s recent appearance in Esquire magazine, a wonderful piece of promotional synchronicity has seen lovely Karen Gillan joining her Doctor Who co-star in the pages of a glossy fashion magazine. The Amy Pond actress is currently appearing in the pages of InStyle magazine, and looking pretty superb if the images on the publications website are anything to go by! InStyle also features an exclusive interview with the actress in which Gillan reveals that the only person who knew about her role as Amy Pond was her boyfriend – she only let her mum know an hour before the announcement! Karen Gillan also likes to spoil herself, it seems.

And being a true fashion girl, she rewarded herself for getting the Dr Who role with a trip to Chanel: ‘I’d wanted a 2.55 handbag for ages as it’s a true classic. To congratulate myself for winning the role, I went to Old Bond Street and bought it in teal. It was a real moment for me.’
