The Doctor and I

John Barrowman sings. Hide.I’ll be honest – I’m horrified at the thought of John Barrowman breaking into song. So hearing that he was releasing a reworked version of “The Wizard and I” from the musical Wicked to cash in on his Doctor Who connections filled me with utter dread.

Even more horrific is that anyone wishing to tune into the Elaine Paige show on Sunday to hear the first radio airplay of “The Doctor and I” – a tune Barrowman has performed live several times – would already have to put up with one mad old diva before getting to the Torchwood star.

Still if you did miss it and want to give it a listen, the show is available on BBC iPlayer until Saturday. There’s not a chance of me telling you how far through the show it is – you won’t catch me listening to Ms Paige for all the tea in China – but the show did feature Eighth Doctor companion Sheridan Smith as well as other cast members of Legally Blonde: The Musical to there’s plenty to listen to on the way.
