Tennant Retreats Into New Role

David Tennant - to star in new film?According to reports, UK based Magnet Films is producing the upcoming thriller Retreat, which has former Doctor Who star David Tennant attached alongside Jason Isaacs (Lucious Malfoy in the Harry Potter series) and Thandie Newton (Mission: Impossible 2, Run, Fat Boy, Run, The Pursuit of Happyness).

Tennant already has several movie credits to his name, including the recent St. Trinian’s II: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold and Glorious 39.

Carl Tibbetts is set to direct the movie which features Newton and Isaacs as a couple taking time out on a remote island to rebuild their strained relationship, only to find their break disrupted by a man in military uniform turning up half-dead on their doorstep. He claims there is a lethal virus killing millions on the mainland – but who is he, and is he telling the truth?

Magnet Films producer Gary Sinyor says:

“It reminded me of Dead Calm when I first read it. Only better. It’s got a similar sexual tension but the battle of wits between the characters and plot twists are constantly surprising.  We’re delighted to have secured three of the UK’s most powerful actors.”

This certainly sounds an exciting role for Tennant and is certainly one to keep an eye on.
