Rex Script Appraisal

David Tennant Televisionary blogger Jace has had the fortune to see the script for the pilot of Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, which stars David Tennant and currently languishes in development hell waiting to be picked up for a full season hopefully later this year.

Written by David Lampson and Andrew Leeds, Rex Is Not Your Lawyer is described as “quirky and compelling” and apparently features a “case of the week” alongside an overarching, serialized plot.

You may know that Rex is about a lawyer (Rex, played by former Doctor Who star David Tennant) with stagefright – a condition which prompts him to flee to Canada and on his return resolve to tutor clients to defend themselves in court.

The rationale behind the twist stems from his unexplained panic attacks, which leave Rex a wreck whenever he attempts to stand or say anything in a courtroom. For a showman such as Rex, one who loves to dazzle his audience, it’s the ultimate form of stage fright.

It’s a shame Rex has’t yet been picked up, but many are hopeful that is will see the light of day in the Autumn. In the meantime, Televisionary’s appraisal should whet your appetite.

(With thanks to Andrew!)
