Torchwood US?

This is quite a turn up – The Hollywood Reporter, um, “reports” that Fox are developing a US version of Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood!

So, you wanted to know what Russell T Davies, Julie Gardner and former BBC drama boss Jane Tranter were doing in the USA – and now you know!

Here’s how they put it:

Fox is developing a stateside version of the U.K. hit series “Torchwood.”

The project is from BBC Worldwide Prods., with original series creator Russell Davies writing the script.

If this goes to a pilot, John Barrowman is very likely to star as the immortal Captain Jack Harkness, it seems – but what this means for Torchwood Series 4 is anyone’s guess.

There is even speculation that Tranter might be keen on a US version of Doctor Who…
