The End of Time for Australia!

The End of Time hits Australian screens next month, bringing the conclusion of David Tennant and Russell T Davies’ time on Doctor Who to fans “down under”.

TVTonight.com have revealed that the two part adventure will air on consecutive weekends in February:

Part 1 will screen at 7:30pm Sunday February 14 on ABC1.

Part 2 will follow a week later 7:30pm Sunday February 21 on ABC1.

It is curious that Australian fans have had to wait so long – Torchwood: Children of Earth was given a “same day” airing on the UKTV subscription channel in Australia, thereby effectively negating attempts of piracy to maximise viewer engagement.

ABC1 often come in for criticism for their handling of various broadcasts of imported drama, and airing The End of Time almost 2 whole months after the event – and possibly just a matter of weeks before the 2010 series starring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor premieres in the UK – probably won’t go down too well…
