Tennant Falls Back

News that the David Tennant starring pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer for NBC has been shelved (for the time being at least) has been met with some surprise – just why did the former Doctor Who star pull out of Burke & Hare?

While the answer to that question is likely to evade us for quite a while yet, there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly unusual about Rex’s immediate fate – most shows that get picked up for a full series on US TV networks do so for the Autumn (Fall) season rather than the Spring.

A source said to UK newspaper The Mirror claim a source told them:

‘The sets are coming down this week. But they will still be available if the show is picked up for the Fall.’

Meanwhile, Tennant himself has said of Rex Is Not Your Lawyer:

‘Who knows? There are 40 different versions of what’s going to happen. We’ll find out soon I hope. I guess I did all right [with the pilot], I didn’t get sacked or anything.”

He’s philosophical – good for him.
