Play the Piper

Billie Piper stars in A Passionate Woman later this year, while a third series of Secret Diary of a Call Girl starts on ITV2 on Thursday, 28th January at 10pm – which is why the former Doctor Who co-star is appearing in various newspapers and magazines this week!

An interview with The Independent sees Piper chatting about marriage, motherhood and the politics surrounding prostution – as well as reflecting briefly upon her recent appearance in David Tennant’s Doctor Who finale, The End of Time.

“I think it’s a healthy time to leave. I mean, our period on Doctor Who is over now really, isn’t it? It’s shifted. The writers are different, the production team are different, the Doctor is different. It’s time to move on.

“I can’t keep re-appearing. It would just become sad. If I were still re-appearing when I was 50, people would say, ‘Oh no, not you again!'”

They might – it’s certainly difficult to say, but given that Rose is in a parallel world now and the show isn’t called Doctor Rose, I reckon it’s a good time to make a break…
