No More Rose for Billie

Former Doctor Who companion Billie Piper has “exclusively” told Digital Spy that she will not be returning to the TARDIS – despite telling the Independent the same thing 10 days ago.

While this does kind of beg the question “what constitutes an exclusive” it’s not all bad news – it at least gives us the chance to see Billie talking about boats.

“I think it’s done now, isn’t it? I think that ship has sailed. That old, wooden ship!

“I really loved doing it, but Doctor Who has moved on – it’s different people, different crew, different production team and I can’t keep going back. It’s ridiculous! It’s time to move on…”

Well, let’s hope for the sake of keeping a lid on what is a (very successful) supporting character that Rose Tyler really, finally is safely lcoked away in that parallel universe forever.

Piper also laid on the pressure on her former Ruby in the Smoke and Secret Diary of a Call Girl co-star Matt Smith – the Eleventh Doctor – in the wake of David Tennant’s departure.

“I hate it that he’s left!” she admitted. “But then I know Matt Smith really well and I love him and I think he’s such a brilliant actor.

“The role couldn’t have gone to a better guy. He’s capable of that. He’s got big shoes to fill, but I’m certain he can do it.”

I myself have big shoes to fill. Luckily I have big feet, which means I can walk about without my big shoes falling off.
