New Doctor Who Games on the Horizon

Multi-platform games company Imagination have been awarded a Doctor Who licence, reports Licensing.biz, with two new boardgames expected later this year.

Featuring the character of the Eleventh Doctor (as played by Matt Smith), these games join a growing number merchanise items for the 2010 series – earlier today we reported on a new Elventh Doctor and Amy Pond jigsaw puzzle.

David Snow is Imagination’s sales and marketing director.

“We’re very excited about this new agreement with BBC Worldwide,”

“This gives us the opportunity to apply our expertise in gameplay development for TV properties and to deliver authentic and fulfilling experiences to both avid fans of Doctor Who and the casual viewer.”

There is also hope that Imaginations position as a multi-platform games company will lead to some digital Doctor Who games. Their products include DVD and board games of licenses such as Deal or No Deal, Pirates of the Caribbean and Family Fortunes.
