Speculation continues to surround BBC Worldwide’s potential selling off of its magazine division – responsible for Doctor Who Adventures and Radio Times.
While there may not be any immediate change to either of those very successful titles (or any of the others such as Top Gear or Gardener’s World) which like most BBC brands are pretty strong and very recognisable, there is a possibility that if the magazine division isn’t sold off, the property will be licenced to a different publisher.
However the BBC remain tight-lipped
“BBC Worldwide is working on its five-year strategy. No decisions have been taken about any of our businesses.â€
Interestingly the BBC Director General is considering selling the public broadcaster’s stake in Worldwide, potentially leading to its commercial arm being almost completely autonomous.
