Ten Years of Doctor Who Audios!
When the Doctor Who range kicked off in 1999, Big Finish brought out audios starring Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, beginning with the three of them together in The Sirens of Time. A full range of adventures for each of the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors followed and the range kicked into second gear with the arrival of Paul McGann in 2001′s Storm Warning.
Over the years a huge number of guest stars have appeared from classic series companions to names such as Derek Jacobi and even David Tennant himself appeared (in Colditz in 2001, Sympathy for the Devil and Exile in 2003 and Medicinal Purposes in 2004)
Personally speaking I’m more of a casual consumer of this range, although I’ve had the fortune of hearing some of the best. However I wanted to offer a Kasterborous Top 10 Big Finish audios list – so naturally I turned to our Associate Editor Brian Terranova, although after 10 years of listening to the plays, he admitted that whittling down the choice to ten was “a bit tough.”
However he didn’t let us down… here’s Brian A. Terranova’s top ten Big Finish Doctor Whos
- Flip Flop
- Seasons of Fear
- Time Works
- The King Maker
- Embrace the Darkness
- The Sandman
- Terror Firma
- The Harvest
If you haven’t heard any of the Big Finish audios, this list is a good place to start – head over to www.bigfinish.com to find out more, and don’t forget Big Finish have a crazy sale on at the moment with reductions on items from across their ranges.
