Ten Time Out Covers!
If you missed this last week, the current edition of Time Out is available in 10 different Doctor Who themed covers!
It does seem as though the entire United Kingdom has gone absolutely David Tennant/Doctor Who bonkers – but is that a bad thing?
When covers like this one of David Tennant (or scroll down for the William Hartnell cover) are put together simply for the purpose of celebrating a show that a mere 10 years ago had been off air for a further 10 years, it suddenly becomes clear how mindblowing the whole new Doctor Who really is.
We all know it’s had its knockers – Kasterborous editor Christian Cawley has been pretty vocal at times regarding certain episodes – but I think we can all agree that whatever our opinion of the series since 2005, it’s profile has never been higher, and it’s reputation never greater.
It isn’t every month that Doctor Who gets to star on the cover of one of the most popular magazines on the stands, which is why this 10-cover spectacular is something to talk about.
Anyone lucky enough to get hold of all 10 versions of Time Out London will more than likely have a collection to admire in 40 or so years time – remarkable when you consider that it’s really just a TV show, one originally devised to bridge the gap between the sports news and the evenings variety entertainment in the 1960s, and again as a way to unite the family in front of the television in the 2000s.
Of course, there is another reason to get hold of at least one copy of Time Out – David Tennant is featured talking about his time as the Doctor. He must have done this half a dozen times this month alone in various magazines and newspapers, but as part of a celebratory special on the eve of his departure from the role that he will forever be remembered for is pretty special!
So, if you can get a Doctor Who themed copy of Time Out, look after it – and if you can get all 10 covers, keep them safe…
Eagle eyed readers will notice there are only 2 covers visible here – all 10 can be viewed by forum members (free signup required).
