Survey Silliness

GoCompare – you know the one, it has an annoying advert – has published the results of a Doctor Who themed survey, with some unusual results.

Curiously members of the public would prefer Hollywood star Ewan McGregor as the Eleventh Doctor over Matt Smith, largely we imagine without any of those asked having seen much of Smith.

Also in this survey, David Tennant was voted the best Doctor, while Rose Tyler was apparently the favourite companion.

Nicholas Hall, head of marketing at Gocompare said:

“Everyone has their favourite Doctor Who and David Tennant has definitely won over old and young alike to be voted the greatest Doctor ever.

“Ewan McGregor would have been a hugely popular choice so perhaps one day he might be persuaded to switch The Force for a sonic screwdriver and save the universe as Doctor Who instead of Obi-Wan Kenobe.”

I love marketing people. I love the way their faces drop when you tell them to push off.

Of course, I digress. This is all utter balderdash. If anyone takes any of it seriously then they either want shooting or a job in marketing.

While you’re digesting that, why not ask yourself this:  just what is an insurance price comparison website doing running Doctor Who surveys? We’d love to know…
