Time Lord Karaoke

A pub in Scarborough was the unlikely venue for a karaoke session by The Next Doctor star David Morrissey and Sarah Jane Adventures Series 3 guest star Suranne Jones recently.

Suranne Jones may have been dressed like this for karaoke. Probably not, though. It was at the Newcastle Packet pub in Sandside that that pair, accompanied by fellow cast and crew members on the new BBC drama Five Days, stopped off at the pub following a bowling night (ten pin, we presume, and not crown green).

Landlady Kath Duffy:

“They were both really nice and so down to earth and, looking at them you would have thought they were normal customers.

“They weren’t stuck up and didn’t have any airs or graces, and posed for lots of photographs.

“Suranne was an excellent singer and sang Baby Love and Baby, It’s Cold Outside, and David Morrisey was very good too. They had a lot of fun and enjoyed themselves.”

I once saw one of the original Drifters playing in a pub in my home town in what was little more than a karaoke session, in front of a packed table or two. He was pretty normal too.
