It’s The Proclaimers!

Russell T Davies with friend (not Julie Gardner)It’s good to be back on the news page – but not so good to listen to the saccherine sycophancy that is Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner’s Letter from America, an audio message to BBC Radio Wales presenters Jamie and Louise.

With their dark hair, big lips and glasses, RTD and Ms Gardner could quite easily be a Welsh version of the  guitar playing brothers The Proclaimers – even down to issuing a Letter From America.

This particular installment was recorded just before the recent San Diego Comic Con appearance and also features David Tennant and director Euros Lyn.

While slightly informative, these podcasts are nothing more than rambling, honey coated glimpses into the lives of two very successful people who have moved abroad to seek more success.

Presumably next week the BBC will be bringing us a podcast message from David and Victoria Beckham.
