Character Actress Linda Polan Dies

We’ve recently been informed that British character actress Linda Polan passed away on July 13th – her long career on stage and screen in the UK took Polan across some classic cult serials including the original Survivors, not to mention K-9 and Company, the first ill-fated spin off for the robot dog in 1981 which co-starred Lis Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith.

Polan appeared as the character Juno Baker in the 1981 special, but is perhaps better known to long-time British TV viewers as Mrs Ploppy the gaolers’ wife from the Blackadder II episode “Head” in 1985.

Other than appearances in some high profile shows over the years, little is known of Linda Polan’s career or life however – her death was announced in the print version of The Stage.
