Torchwood Series 4 Confusion

Torchwood Children of Earth starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd

Torchwood’s future continues to garner publicity and uncertainty – following a declaration by comicmix.com that BBC America had confirmed to them that Torchwood would be returning, Sunday’s panel saw Russell T Davies remark that the decision had yet to be made.

BBC America told ComicMix’s Mike Raub that Torchwood has been picked up for a fourth season. No word on when it will air or the number of episodes.

No doubt there are schedules and scripts to be accounted for and factored in – but if the BBC is planning to commission a fourth run of the Doctor Who spin-off alien hunting sci-fi drama following the success of Children of Earth, why not tell us?

In many ways a fourth series is a no-brainer – but as we know in recent months Russell T Davies has been looking for work Stateside and the two remaining stars John Barrowman and Eve Myles have packed schedules, with the next opening said to be Spring 2010.
