St. Tennant’s Gold

Quantum of Solace star Gemma Arterton in St Trininan'sDavid Tennant is adding a new post Doctor Who project to his CV – starring in the next St. Trinian’s movie alongside Colin Firth and Rupert Everett in the follow-up film, The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, reports BBC News.

Also appearing will be Ashes to Ashes‘ Montserrat Lombard and Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding returns in an acting role, having appeared with her bandmates in the 2007 remake of the 1950s British movie which also starred Russell Brand and Gemma Arterton (pictured here).

The St. Trinian’s movies are an acquired taste, featuring attractice actresses in “naughty schoolgirl” outfits generally misbehaving; the older films launched the screen careers of many actresses including Joan Sims and Barbara Windsor.

Tennant – rumoured to be playing the shady character “Pomfrey” – is also set to be seen later this year in Stephen Poliakoff’s Glorious 39 as well as Hamlet and his final 3 episodes of Doctor Who.
