Movie Announcement Speculation

Okay… last week on the announcement that Russell T Davies and David Tennant would be attending the San Diego Comic Con in July, we speculated that this could be a great occasion to announce a Doctor Who movie.

Since then several mainstream media sites have offered the same speculation – without any base other than “convenience”.

Yes, it is a convenient bit of speculation – we know that Russell T Davies is looking to move to the USA for work, he’s got his visa and there is certainly something going on. While a Doctor Who movie script has been confirmed as being in development, there really isn’t anything more to be said on the matter.

So if you catch any articles from Digital Spy, The London Paper or The Coventry Telegraph (with at least one of these citing Kasterborous as a source) raising hopes of an announcement on July 26th at San Diego Comic Con, take them with a pinch of salt… although bear in mind…

Previously, Tennant has revealed that he has signed up for an unidentified “sci-fi project”, while Davies has hinted that an announcement of a “special project” would be coming soon, telling Doctor Who Magazine: “News as and when, but I can promise, it’s worth waiting for.”

(Yep! A big disclaimer article. You just never know, do you?)
