Torchwood S4: Ready to Go

Friday’s preview of Torchwood: Children of Earth first episode Day One at the National Film Theatre was followed by a Q&A session with showrunner Russell T Davies – and it seems as though Torchwood doomsayers might have been a little wide of the mark.

Reviews of the first part of the serial have been encouraging, although part three writer James Moran via Twitter has urged fans to avoid spoilers of any kind, but particularly those for Day One.

Plans are in place for a 4th series confirmed Davies, although ultimately a decision lies with the BBC One heads who will make a decision based on the performance of Children of Earth.

Russell T Davies also signalled that he was happy to spend another ten years on Torchwood if the show was still viable, which gives it a much longer shelf life than initially conceived.

Apparently there is also mention of the Doctor in the serial’s final run!
