No Torchwood Edits on BBC America

Airing in the USA on BBC America from, Monday 20 July through Friday July 24, Torchwood: Children Of Earth has been allocated 75 minute slots – indicating that the full 60 minutes of drama will be broadcast without any more than the minimal cuts that might be applied to meet broadcast standards.

Broadcasts are scheduled as:

9PM to 10:15PM Eastern (75 minute premiere slots)
8PM to 9PM Eastern (60 minute repeats the night following premiere broadcast)

This is a significant piece of scheduling as it means that BBC America are delaying a flagship news slot in order to show the full length Torchwood episodes throughout the week.

As such North American viewers with access to BBC America are heavily encouraged to tune in for the 9pm broadcasts of Torchwood: Children Of Earth in order to prove to BBC America schedulers the value of airing shows without cuts (or with minimal on decency grounds).

Let’s hope it’s a successful week that leads to more full-length Torchwood and Doctor Who episodes on BBC America
