Tenth Doctor Visits Sarah Jane

Initially revealed by Den of Geek over the Bank Holiday weekend, the BBC have confirmed that David Tennant will appear in an episode of the third run of The Sarah Jane Adventures later this year.

Whoniverse showrunner in chief Russell T Davies says of the appearance:

“Viewers thought they may have to wait until November for the next full episode of Doctor Who, but this is an extra special treat.

“And it’s not just a cameo from David.

“This is a full-on appearance for the Doctor as he and Sarah Jane face their biggest threat ever.”

Meanwhile in this month’s Doctor Who Magazine, Russell T Davies hints of third “special project” – with the recently announced animation Dreamland the first and the Doctor’s appearance in SJA the second:

“… it would be nice to round things off with a Special Project 3… I can promise, it’s worth waiting for!”

Did someone say “movie”…?

BBC Films confirmed that “a script is in development”.

The Sarah Jane Adventures returns to CBBC in September – expect the biggest ratings for a children’s show in years when the Doctor makes a house call…
