Tennant’s Masterpiece

News from the US reports that David Tennant is set to become the host of PBS’ Masterpiece Contemporary, the angliphiliac “bookend” to various British drama serials and one-offs.

As host Tennant would follow in the footsteps of X Men star Alan Cumming and X Files‘ Gillian Anderson.

It’s not stated whether or not David Tennant would be recording his presentation slots in the US or the UK. However they’re likely to be recorded at some point after his final scenes in Doctor Who later this month.

However Tennant is expected to be seen introducing the dramas from Autumn/Fall 2009.

The Masterpiece series returns to PBS screens in October, with the William Hurt and Jonny Lee Miller thriller Endgame.
