Torchwood Afternoon Play

Three audio play episodes running 45 minutes will air in Radio 4’s Afternoon Play slot in June, reports Torchwood.tv, with the full cast plays apparently set after the previous audio play Lost Souls and before the upcoming Children of Earth should premier days after the plays.

It’s an interesting continuation of the format established with Lost Souls, and could even be the start of Torchwood’s enhanced lifespan beyond the bubble of Cardiff sci-fi success – reunion plays in 20 years time and that sort of thing…

Details of the three plays follow:

The story of a troubled teen runaway called Freda, who is brought to the attention of Torchwood by PC Andy (played by Tom Price).

Golden Age
“A story with a twist” according to producer Kate McAll, ‘Golden Age’ is set in present day India and features a character called the Duchess.

The Dead Line
“A series of mysterious phone calls lead Jack into danger, and result in ‘a very emotional moment for Ianto’.
