Tom Baker Rumour Takes Shape

With a new Doctor Who set to start filming in a matter of weeks under a brand new production team, rumours have been vague; of course, we don’t even have a companion yet but where did the Daily Express get the idea from that Fourth Doctor and Little Britain narrator Tom Baker is making an appearance?

Sure, there’s been talk of a story derived from Mark Gatiss’ 1990s Doctor Who novel Nightshade, but is it really likely to be the case if Tom then appeared alongside his first companion Lis Sladen?

A BBC mole said: “As it’s Doctor Who, his return all these years on could be explained in all manner of ways.”

Of course a return to the show for Tom would come 29 years after his departure – surely too great a gap for him to play the Doctor again..?
