Specials Casting Updates (SPOILERS)

Think of a name, subtract from it the year you were born and then add a random nuWho-era Whoniverse character – the chances are they’ve been spotted on location recently filming scenes from of David Tennant’s Doctor Who finale…

So move along now, briskly too as I relay some interesting pieces of casting – such as former Hi-De-Hi and House of Windsor (yeah RTD, top flight comedy that one…) star Barry Howard. Also spotted has been Karl Collins, better known as funky DC Danny Glaze in The Bill, no to mention of course June Whitfield who was first reported to be involved in production last week and who starred alongside Bernard Cribbins in 1992’s Carry on Columbus.

Along with the aforementioned Cribbins and Catherine Tate (who has been snapped in character as Donna Noble embarking on a bit of shopping, not to mention at the famous Kardomah Cafe, on Portland Street), sightings of the following have been reported…

  • John Barrowman
  • Eve Myles and
  • Gareth-David Lloyd
  • Elisabeth Sladen
  • Tommy Knight

No sightings as-yet of Billie Piper or Freema Agyeman; no word on Mickey Smith actor Noel Clarke, the bloke who played the other Tenth Doctor or Clive from Rose.

UPDATE April 16th

Certain elements of casting on this page (namely the Torchwood cast) should be taken with a pinch of salt; they’ve effectively been debunked as snaps from Children of Earth

…no word yet meanwhile on a return by Elton…
