June Broadcast for Torchwood?

Torchwood looks set to return to our screens with the Children of Earth miniseries airing in June if the date of the British Film Institute preview is anything to go by…

According to Den of Geek, the first episode will be previewed on Friday, 12th June at the National Film Theatre in London, possibly indicating that the following Monday will see the 5-nightly serial broadcast on BBC One. Cast and creative and production staff are also set to appear at the preview for a Q&A session.

As the excitement builds for this very different Torchwood adventure, the details below will be common knowledge by the time of the show’s broadcast – but you may feel free to look away in order to avoid what you might consider spoilers…

1965: Twelve children are gathered on a deserted moor, before being surrounded by a harsh, bright light …. and then they are gone!
Today: all over Earth, children stop moving. Stop playing, stop laughing. Then, as one, they begin to speak with the same voice, announcing the imminent arrival of a new alien threat. “We are coming…”. As the British government closes ranks, it issues a death warrant against Captain Jack and Torchwood…
