Giant Linen Dalek Attacks Belfast

A giant Dalek has been spotted on a hillside in Northern Ireland, causing a considerable stir lcoally and even gaining attention on national news.

It’s all part of a superbly unique plan to promote the Vortex event, a charity Doctor Who event over the Bank holiday weekend of Sunday 3rd of May, 2009 in the Europa Hotel, Belfast.

Of the Dalek on the hillside, resourceful CT Events organiser Denis Rush says of the 500ft worth of linen:

“It was tough going as it must be a 50 degree slope, but it was definitely worth it.

“We don’t make any money out of our events and don’t have any marketing budget to speak of, so hopefully this will get people talking about our latest event.”

Headlining the event is Torchwood’s Gareth David Lloyd who has appeared in every episode of the series as well as the 2008 Dotor Who finale – so there will be no end to the stories he will have to tell during the Q&A or the discussions.

Vortex kicks off at 9am on Sunday 3rd of May and runs through to 1am, with tickets for the full day costing just £10 (group discounts are available) and are on sale now through the UT Events website (www.utevents.co.uk). For more ticket and event info, call UT Events on 07709 176 544.
