2009 Specials Shooting in Penarth

Following on from the success of the locations used in 2008’s The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End, the Doctor Who production team have returned to the picturesue South Wales resort of Penarth to record more location footage for some of the Tenth Doctor’s final scenes.

Penarth Times reader Steve Johnson caught a couple of snaps of the location work, including the Doctor’s iconic Police Box TARDIS and David Tennant standing patiently waiting, which have been published on the Penarth Times website.

The snaps (via the link above) were taken last week on the town’s Victoria Road, while other locations across the town have been used over the location filming.

Current filming is believed to be studio-bound; May 22nd has been mentioned as the final day of the Tenth Doctor…
