Red Nose Day This Week!

You might have heard that David Tennant is co-hosting Red Nose Day 2009 – and it’s this Friday!

That’s right, Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day is almost upon us, which means it really is time to start doing something funny for money.

"I’m co-presenting this year’s TV extravaganza, on BBC One on Friday the 13th – which won’t be unlucky this year, I promise…" revealed David in the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine. "Live telly is always exhilarating, but I’m sure this will be even more so, because I’m expected to be fronting it – well, the first hour or so, which does give me some more responsibility…"

This year’s event also features a contribution from the Whoniverse with a special "mini-edition" of The Sarah Jane Adventures in which Elisabeth Sladen and K9 come face to face with comedy legend Ronnie Corbett.

As for the "comic" element of Comic Relief, the evening features new material from Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse paying homage to Dragon’s Den to once again, while Armstrong and Miller team up with Mitchell & Webb.

Look out also for offerings from situation comedies Outnumbered and The Royle Family as well as a Harry Hill’s TV Burp special and French and Saunders reuniting one last time as they spoof Mamma Mia!
