Newport Shoot

Newport has become a “winter wonderland” during the shooting of the latest Doctor Who special.

With fake snow plastered across the area, fans milled around trying to get a glimpse of the Doctor and his new companion, played by character actress Lindsay Duncan

Somewhere in the region of 60 fans were spotted in dark cold night-time hours on Saturday and Sunday, with one onlooker outlining events:

“They closed the streets off and brought in a huge snow machine to cover the road with snow. It looked like it was either going to be the very start or the end of the second Doctor Who special.

“Lindsay Duncan was very involved in the scene and had about four or five minutes of dialogue with a couple of children before they ran off and she went back into the Tardis.

“David Tennant was looking very cold as they waited around and was drinking plenty of tea to keep himself warm. Lindsay Duncan had a big, thick coat on because it was freezing.”

The clock is ticking…
