Deadly Assassin DVD

May’s Doctor Who DVD release looks set to the The Deadly Assassin, the 1976 lone Fourth Doctor adventure starring Tom Baker and written by Robert Holmes.

Following a summons to Gallifrey at the end of The Hand of Fear, the Doctor is soon framed for the murder of the new Time Lord President. It soon transpires that an old and bitter enemy has returned, desperate for both life and revenge…

With a release date listed on Amazon of May 4th 2009, The Deadly Assassin is a must-have DVD purchase. Bringing the concept of a virtual reality matrix to a mass audience for the first time, the story also introduces some key elements of Doctor Who lore, as well as giving viewers the first extended glimpse of Gallifrey – a different world to that portrayed in The Three Doctors.

As revealed in DWM 404, The Deadly Assassin features a selection of extras including The Gallifreyean Candidate and The Frighten Factor.

The Deadly Assassin is available now from Amazon for £14.69
