Planet of the Dead in Dubai

Doctor Who moves to Dubai this week as star David tennant and co-stars Michelle Ryan and Lee Evans swap cold Cardiff for dusty, dry Dubai to record location footage on Planet of the Dead.

With just a matter of months until David Tennant records his final scenes as the Doctor, the shoot in Dubai is just one of a number of high-profile locations to be used by the Doctor Who production team for the 2009-spanning series of special episodes leading up to the departure of David Tennant – and with him the Tenth Doctor…

Producer Tracie Simpson said: ôe rarely take Doctor Who abroad although we did visit Rome for series fourÆ The Fires Of Pompeii, which gave us some spectacular footage.

ôhe locations in Dubai are a perfect match for writer Russell T DaviesÆ vision of the episode and we expect to film some incredible scenes while we are here.ö

Fingers crossed there are no more "bus crushing"-type incidents…
