Online Torchwood Comic

With delicious, atmospheric artwork from Adrian Salmon (his style instantly recognisable from Doctor Who Magazine) the Torchwood comic strip adventure is exclusive to the UKTV Watch website.

40 panels of art were produced by Salmon over the course of a week, according to Torchwood Magazine editor Martin Eden’s blog, and it’s an entertaining little thriller of aliens under the ice.

There is one drawback, however.  A lack of drama, more than likely a result of the medium and capabilities of the website.  It’s a nice system, being able to veiw each cel in turn – but that’s all it is, a nice system.  There’s no immediacy, no pace, no splash and no double-page moments of awe-inspiring wonder that we all love in comic books.

That aside, it is a tale that works, and looks wonderful with Adrian Salmon’s trademark style.  Written by Torchwood assistant producer Brian Minchin and lettered by John Workman, try as I might I just cannot find a title for the adventure!

(Massive thanks to Professor Peach for this find!)
