Mobile Doctor Who on iPlayer

Windows Mobile users can now access the BBC iPlayer service – and watch Doctor Who and other TV and radio programming on the move!

There are several ways to achieve this – and the best summary of these methods online at the moment is an article (by me…) at the Brighthub.com Windows Mobile channel.

Currently, the BBC doesn’t allow iPlayer synchronisation with any Windows Mobile device, putting owners of such handhelds at a disadvantage to the Apple iPhone users. Which I for one find slightly unfair…

However the easiest, most straightforward method than can get you watching Doctor Who on any Windows Mobile phone or PDA is to download the Skyfire browser (from www.skyfire.com) which allows streaming of iPlayer content!

It’s simply a case of installing, running and browsing to bbc.co.uk/iplayer in the Skyfire browser to start watching – it’s great – and absolutely free!

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children. You can find him on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
