The Doctor’s Sister

TYPE PHWOARY!  Not a spade in sight, 11th Doctor Matt Smith has rather a fit sister, by all accounts.

Pictured recently in the Northampton Chronicle, she told how her actor brother isn’t keen on a lot of fuss.

Laura Jayne Smith works as a dancer and has appeared on stage alongside some huge names, such as Cliff Richard and Take That

"I love Cliff Richard and Take That are great friends of mine, but nothing compares to my baby brother being made Doctor Who!

"He doesn’t like all the attention but I love that side of things and spend my life trying to be papped. So this week has been rather strange, having to keep away from the papers."

Matt Smith was apparently out of the country when his casting was announced on Saturday – confirmation as if any was now needed that he likes a quiet life…

"I think it’s going to be quite a shock for him when he comes home," added Laura Jayne. "We spoke for a couple of hours on the phone yesterday and he asked me if it had made the papers here. I said ‘yes, you’re all over the front pages!’ which surprised him."

I’m sure he’ll get used to it…
