Tennant Up For Scot of the Year

Doctor Who star David Tennant has been nominated on the 2009 Scot of the Year shortlist.

He joins billionaire Donald Trump, Knighted Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy and tennis ace Andy Murray on the list, as well as round the world cyclist Mark Beaumont.

Much has been made of the fact that British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been omitted from the list

The Scot of the Year award is run by London-based charity organisation ScotsCare which look safter 1st and 2nd generation Scots in London.

The winner will be announced to coincide with the anniversary of the birth of Scots poet Robert Burns on January 25th.
