Smith on Smith

Mickey Smith actor Noel Clarke has revealed his thoughts on new Doctor Matt Smith.

The actor and writer – who is nominated for an Orange Rising Star award at the BAFTAs – "could not be happier" at the casting of the 11th Doctor.

"I’m absolutely chuffed that Matt Smith is the Doctor. I don’t know the guy, but I could not be happier.  It’s going to be fantastic. I know he’s going to be brilliant. He’s going to be his own Doctor."

And as the man who earlier this year declared that "Mickey Smith has left the building", Clarke is all too aware that with a change of production team and a change of Doctor, Matt Smith comes to the role with "no baggage."
