Matt Smith Interviewed

As DS Dan Twentyman, Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith is paired with the eponymous DI Moses Jones (Shaun Parkes – you might recognise him from The Satan Pit) in a major new three-part BBC drama by Joe Penhall.

Matt Smith is quoted chatted about the show on ThisIsDerbyshire.co.uk, and while there’s nothing Doctor Who related, there is a hint of the character of the man who will play the Eleventh Doctor.

Moses Jones concerns a fictional London underworld and begins with an apparent ritual killing that takes the two detectives to a variety of unsavoury locations – such as a brothel.

"It felt like a real-life brothel which was a bonus," he laughs.

"It was our first day of shooting and we got there and there were loads of naked women everywhere. Me and Shaun were like, ‘Oh well, this is OK, it should be all right’."

Moses Jones begins Monday evening at 9pm, BBC Two.
