More US Location Rumours

Rumours of Doctor Who Executive Producer Julie Gardner’s move to the USA to work with outgoing BBC Fiction boss Jane Tranter have resurfaced this week, leading to renewed speculation that Doctor Who could be taking a short trip stateside.

Interestingly, the highly regarded Ms Gardner – for who we can also thank for Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes – hasn’t thought to pass any plans of her move on to a BBC spokesperson, who revealed that "Julie has not announced any plans to move."

Of course she has already announced her decision to leave and was replaced by Piers Wenger in the Doctor Who setup. The "handover" period is set to complete when Gardner departs her BBC Wales role in January 2009.

With production of 4 Doctor Who specials kicking off in the New Year, it isn’t inconceivable that the Doctor could be landing in the USA or the production team making use of some interesting locales…
