Lucky Devils!

The winners of the BBC’s Children in Need Doctor Who competition have been handed their prize – a trip to the Doctor Who set at Upper Boat, near Pontypridd!

This weekend will see in total 400 people given the much heralded behind the scenes tour, where as well as being shown the TARDIS control room and the underground headquarters of Torchwood, the prizewinners experience a "mystery stop", with guests sworn to secrecy.

The local council meanwhile have got in on the act, highlighting the use of the local area’s distinct scenery and architecture in the production of Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Councillor Russell Roberts:

"Many people are unaware that, as well as being the base for filming, our county is also used as a living set, with our stunning scenery, historic buildings and attractions being used as backdrops throughout the series."

So to the lucky winners and their guests – enjoy and savour your weekend!
