Has the 11th Doctor Been Cast?

That’s certainly the question being asked following the tactless statement by Digital Spy’s Neil Wilkes in the recent interview with Russell ("don’t call be Roberta") Tovey.

Basically in a childish bit "I know something you don’t know, ner ner ne ner nerrr", Wilkes – not known to be a relation to Robbie Williams’ mate, but hey he’s evidently stupid enough – stated:

Now, I have it on veeeeery good authority that the next Doctor has already been chosen. It’s an interesting new direction, and the choice (assuming no changes of heart) will probably surprise – and divide – many. The name I’ve heard isn’t Paterson Joseph. Or John Simm. Or James Nesbitt.

And we, Neil, have it on very good authority (your own words) that you’re a total c*ck, and deserved winner of…. the Kasterborous Hack of the Week Award!

Well done sir!

So, and getting back to the point here, the Eleventh Doctor Who has – if we believe this – been cast. Question is, is it Alex Kingston? That would be quite divisive, although it would make a marriage extremely bizarre and slightly kinky.

As for betting – well, it’s all still open until an official annoucnement is made by the BBC.
