Eleventh Doctor TBC at CiN?

Based on talk from Terry Wogan on this morning’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Children in Need night is rumoured to feature the revelation that is…

The identity of the next star of Doctor Who!

As the MC of the occasion, Wogan should know what’s going down in 10 days time, and with the series’ 45th anniversary on November 23rd it is unlikely that will have to wait for any real length of time.

Of course, Terry is getting on a bit (see his Song for Europe balls up in 2007) and it is possible that his statement that they “may announce the new Doctor Who” could be a misunderstanding of the fact that they are premiering 2 minutes of The Next Doctor.

Wogan is a consummate professional, however – so we’ll have to wait 10 days until Friday November 14th to find out!

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children. You can find him on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
